From a young age, I was extremely curious and ambitious, but not in a relentless way. I simply wanted to know more, to understand more – but only because I wanted it, not because I was pushed by anyone or anything. For me, education means freedom. It goes hand in hand with independence and self-realization. Everyone knows that knowledge is power. What I have learned, no one can take away from me. That's why I always gave my all, delving deeper into subjects than many others, and was genuinely interested in everything happening around me. Of course, there were many challenges along the way, especially since I didn't fit the average mold and was excluded by most for years, but I always told myself: "You can do it! Don't let anyone take away your joy of learning and your right to education. With passion and discipline, anything is possible!" And in the end, I really did it – thanks to my mother and grandparents, who stood by me through thick and thin and supported me in every way.
I am studying Management and Technology at the Technical University of Munich. This course combines both economic and technological/scientific aspects – ideal for someone who is entrepreneurial in the dynamic world of skincare. Balancing studies and entrepreneurship is sometimes quite a challenge. It requires a lot of discipline, good time management, and prioritization. But frankly, I enjoy entrepreneurship and working on DOC.BERGER | EFFECT much more. I see my studies as an important theoretical foundation, of course, but my heart beats for DOC.BERGER | EFFECT. That's why I put all my energy into our brand in my free time, on weekends, at night, and whenever I can. It's more than just a job for me – it's my passion, and I love seeing how our skincare products positively change people's lives.
My passion for the world of beauty was primarily ignited by my mother, Dr. Luise Berger. I was always by her side, experiencing her successes, the stories of her patients, and her valuable experiences. I saw up close how she enhanced the lives of many women, both externally and internally, whether through Botox/fillers to smooth wrinkles or body-transforming procedures like tummy tucks, breast augmentations, or reductions. The enthusiasm and positive feedback from her patients deeply impressed me.
Additionally, as a quarter Japanese, I noticed during my numerous visits to Japan how much younger and healthier people look there. The quality of their skin has always fascinated me. When my mother had the idea to create her own skincare line—one that truly works, while being clean and sustainable—I was immediately on fire.
My own teenage years brought personal skin problems like dry and blemished skin. Interacting with friends and other teenagers who had similar issues further strengthened my desire to make a difference. Now, as I build DOC.BERGER | EFFECT together with my mother, it's not just about beauty for me. It's about a mission: everyone should have the chance to feel comfortable in their own skin.
- Don't touch the pimple: As tempting as it may be, squeezing or constantly touching it can spread bacteria and worsen inflammation.
- Cleanse your skin: The combination of cleansing foam and tonic (Double Cleansing) is a must to keep impure skin under control.
- Exfoliation: Use both enzymatic peels and fruit acid peels. Enzyme peelings enzymatically break down sebum in the pores, while fruit acid peelings selectively remove the outermost layer of skin, allowing the skin to renew faster and alleviating cornification disorders.
I start every morning with double cleansing using Foam Intense and Purifying Tonic to thoroughly clean my pores and balance the optimal pH for subsequent skincare. Then, I apply the Anti-Pollution Day Cream, which protects me from sunlight, blue light, and infrared radiation. In the evening, after cleansing my face again with Foam and Tonic, I apply the Purifying Power Serum. It helps prevent breakouts and soothes inflammation. Following that, I use the Retinol Serum, which works wonders by refining pores, firming the skin, boosting collagen production, and reducing fine lines. Finally, I apply the Purifying Night Cream, which has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties to regenerate my skin overnight and enhance the effects of the serums by deeply delivering their active ingredients. Additionally, I use a peel once to three times a week, alternating between the 15% fruit acid and enzyme peelings as needed. This helps to remove dead cells from my skin and maximize the effectiveness of my entire skincare routine.

Similar to daily habits like brushing your teeth or showering, skincare should be a natural part of your daily routine.
